A Message From Lynn Dorroh, CEO

Dear Friends,

When we opened our doors in Round Mountain in 1985, we did so with very little money in our pockets, but a lot of hope for improving the health of our community. If you know us, you know that we take our role in the community seriously and we are committed to provide more than just primary care visits and a quick prescription. We are committed to a way of doing healthcare that considers the whole person, mind, body and spirit.
We listen. And we care.
Now, over 30 years later, it is safe to say that this model works. Our compassionate approach, dedicated staff, and commitment to holistic care have allowed us to gain the trust of our patients, the respect of our colleagues the appreciation of our community, and recognition from national healthcare institutions. We don’t do this work to get rich. We don’t continue to expand our services because it’s easy. We do this hard and important work because we believe that individual health is a driver for improved quality of life for all. We know that a healthy individual participates more fully in their family, their workplace, and their neighborhood.
Vital and healthy people build vital and healthy communities.
Even if you never step foot in this clinic as a patient, this project will be important to you. Because we’re not just seeing patients at the Center of Hope. We are building a healthier Shasta County. We are dramatically improving access to preventative care, addiction treatment, mental health services and dental care. We are expanding our thoughtful, individualized approach to new and existing patients, including those with complex or multiple diagnoses that often fail to thrive without targeted intervention and built-in supportive services. We are providing housing and case management for youth and young-adult students that are at risk for becoming homeless, and helping homeless adults suffering from mental illness find a home.

  • If you’re concerned about mental health, support this project.

  • If you’re concerned about the impact of addiction in our community, support this project.

  • If you’re interested in making sure local kids have access to appropriate preventative care, support this project.

  • If you’re concerned about youth at risk of homelessness, support this project.

  • If you believe that a healthier community is a happier community, support this project.

What does this mean for the Round Mountain Clinic? Only good things. Patients that live in Redding can be seen in Redding, easing crowding and reducing wait-times for appointments in Round Mountain. The teen program, Circle of Friends, KKRN radio, dental outreach and other programs that support the health and vitality of the intermountain region will continue their good work in the community.

Please stay tuned on social media for updates about our peer-to-peer fundraising campaign. Very soon we will be asking our friends, neighbors, patients, staff (and pretty much anyone with a pulse) to join us in raising funds for the Center of Hope, due to break ground very soon.

Hill Country comes from humble roots, powered by friendly neighbors, bake sales, and ravioli fundraiser dinners. We don’t have a lot of friends that are millionaires, but we do have about a million friends. And we will need each and every one of you to help us bring this ambitious project to life.

Yours together in health,

Lynn Dorroh, CEO
