After all the eating, shopping and the official launch of the holiday season, today marks a time to breathe. This day, known as Giving Tuesday, is our opportunity to reflect on all of the good work being done in our community. It’s the chance to appreciate the efforts of SO MANY nonprofits in our region that exist solely to make our small corner of the world a little better.

The beauty of nonprofit work is that we are driven by mission, not by profits. We get out of bed every morning looking for our opportunity to make a difference, not a dollar. Our success is measured by people, not profits.

Hill Country is not alone in this endeavor. Today we stand with 175 other worthy organizations participating in Northstate Giving Tuesday. This annual day of giving is a chance to give back to the causes and organizations that are near and dear to your heart. It is a moment to put aside the holiday busyness and enjoy the sense of satisfaction that comes from sharing what you have with those around you. On Northstate Giving Tuesday, you can donate to your regular “favorites”, or you might browse around and find a new organization doing work that is important to you.
