Happy Thanksgiving!

Work continues at the Center of Hope during this short holiday week.  The crew continues to seal up the exterior and install the foam insulation for the siding.

The skeleton of the main stairs by the elevator has been welded and secured into place.

The asphalt for the parking lot was installed this week.  Quite a bit of work goes into laying the smooth, dark surface down.

Many pieces of heavy machinery were on site to level the surface in preparation for the asphalt.

The asphalt was delivered in many dump trucks over a couple days.  The trucks dumped the hot asphalt into the hopper of the paver.

The asphalt travels on a conveyor to an auger which delivers the asphalt material to the area where it's spread and lightly compacted by the paver.  The surface is then completely compacted by the asphalt roller that drives over the area multiple times.

A long, deep trench was dug and the underground conduits were put into place to get the electrical service out to the housing unit.

Inside, the crew began to tile the restrooms in the Medical wing.

The tiles are installed with a leveling and spacing system used to keep them in place until the mortar is dry then grout is applied in the gaps.

The ceiling grids have been installed in the Medical wing.

The crew has also begun to pull all the wiring for the network cables.  Many workers on ladders and scaffolding working above the ceiling grids pulling string and CAT 5 cables throughout the Medical hallways, offices and exam rooms.

A bundle of insulation stands by at the Medical Check-in window, just waiting to be placed inside a wall.

The Center of Hope construction site will be quiet for four days during the holiday weekend.
