Unedited photos from this week

The Center of Hope took on an eerie glow this week.  Smoke from nearby fires blew into Redding on Wednesday and quickly darkened the construction site.  It concerned Slater & Son's Construction Superintendent, Jackson, enough that he began searching the internet to see if a new fire had started within a few miles of the site.  Fortunately, the fires are many, many miles away from the Center of Hope.

Hill Country's thoughts are with all of those affected by these devastating fires.  Unfortunately, Hill Country understands the impact of wildfires all too well.  For those of you unaware of Hill Country's history, we were fire victims back in 1992.  The Fountain Fire burned our original clinic to the ground but we rebuilt.  We came back bigger and better and we hope for the same for all fire victims.  For more details about Hill Country's history, click HERE.

The dark sky was everywhere, turning what would have otherwise been a beautiful day into what appeared to be a gloomy evening.

The last time you saw this view of the Courtyard, the sky was blue (click  HERE)

Despite the ominous sky, the crews continued to work on the grounds around the building.
The crew is busy preparing the grounds for pouring the curbs.  There is utility infrastructure being put in underground as well as leveling the dirt to grade.  Lots of heavy machinery being driven around - you've got to look both ways when stepping outside the building!

The crew drilled holes for the placement of light poles in preparation for pouring concrete curbs in a couple days.  The concrete footings for the light poles extend five feet into the ground.  I looked down into the hole - it was deep!

The crew from Cardinal Concrete poured the foundation for the housing unit this week.  It's hard work getting the concrete poured, leveled and smoothed to perfection but they work together so well they make it look easy!

The exterior is completely covered with the DensGlass sheathing. The crew from Harrison Drywall completed it quickly and professionally.  A big Thank You to their crew for all their efforts!
